Latex adhesive for ceramic tile
Sanded tile grout
Acrylic exterior satin varnish
Black fine line permanent marker
Ruler
Palette knife
Disposable bowl, small
Bucket of water
Household sponge
Soft, clean rag
Rubber gloves"

Steps:

1. Sort pebbles into dark and light piles.
   
2. Use marker to draw spiral around foam ball, from top to bottom, or draw custom pattern.
   
3. Use palette knife to spread 1/8"-thick layer of tile adhesive onto small area of ball, along marker line. Note: Rest ball in small bowl while working to prevent rolling.
   
4. Firmly press one or two rows of black pebbles into adhesive along entire marker line, placing pebbles close together; add adhesive as needed. Repeat, filling remaining spaces with light-colored pebbles for contrast; let dry completely.
   
5. Following manufacturer's instructions, mix grout. Put on rubber gloves. Use tip of damp sponge to rub grout into spaces between stones. As you work, remove excess grout from stones with clean side of sponge. Note: If using sanded grout, rinse tools in bucket, not sink; discard water outdoors.
   
6. When ball is completely grouted, wipe away excess once more using damp sponge. Let ball dry slightly. Repeat sponging until stones are clean.
   
7. When dry, rub ball with clean rag to remove grout residue and restore shine.
   
8. If using outdoors, follow manufacturer's instructions to apply one or more coats of sealer to ball.

In a glass or plastic bowl, put some pieces of coal, coke, porous brick, tile, cement or sponge.

Day 1: Over the base material, pour two tablespoons of water, two of table salt (iodized or plain)

and two of Mrs. Stewart’s Bluing.

Day 2: Add two more tablespoons of salt.

Day 3: Pour into the bottom of the bowl (not directly on the base material) two tablespoons each of

salt, water, and Mrs. Stewart’s Bluing, and then add a few drops of mercurochrome, vegetable

coloring or ink to each piece.

Ingredients for Bird Seed Wreath                        

For a bundt-pan sized bird seed wreath, you’ll need:

• 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/2 cup warm water
• 3 tablespoons light corn syrup
• 1 package unflavored gelatin
• 4 cups bird food (such as seeds, peanuts, berries, dried fruits)
• Bundt pan or other mold
• Nonstick cooking spray

How to Make Birdseed Christmas Ornaments

• 3 cups birdseed
• 4 envelopes (¼-oz.) unflavored gelatin
• Cookie cutters
• Nonstick baking sheet
• Vegetable oil baking spray
• Wax paper
• 24-gauge craft wire
• Decorative ribbon

     Line a nonstick baking sheet with wax paper.

     Spray the inside surface of cookie cutters with vegetable oil baking spray, and place them on the baking sheet, spacing them evenly.

     Cut a 2-foot length of craft wire for each cookie cutter.

     Crunch the craft wire into a loose ball, leaving approximately 3 inches of straight wire. Shape the wire balls so they fit inside the cookie cutters.

     Arrange a wire inside of each cookie cutter so the straight end pokes up over the top edge of the cookie cutter.

     Combine 3 cups birdseed with four ¼-oz. packages unflavored gelatin in a mixing bowl.

     Add 4 tbsp. water to the birdseed mixture, and stir until thoroughly combined. Be sure that the gelatin is evenly dispersed in the mixture.

     Spoon the birdseed mixture into the cookie cutters, filling the cookie cutters to the top edge and covering the craft wire completely. Press the mixture into all the corners of the cookie cutter shape.

     Allow the birdseed ornaments to dry for one hour.

     Gently twist each birdseed ornament to loosen it from the wax paper. Slide the wax paper out from under the ornaments, leaving the ornaments on the baking sheet.

     Sprinkle each birdseed filled cookie cutter evenly with 2 or 3 tsp. water.

     Bake the ornaments at 250 degree F for one hour or until the ornaments are thoroughly hard and dry. Remove the birdseed ornaments from the oven and allow them to cool.

     Press each ornament out of its cookie cutter. Twist the wire on the top of each ornament into a loop. Attach a decorative ribbon to each ornament.
